Purpose

Vicmap Admin provides an accurate representation of various adminstrative boundaries across Victoria, at a capture scale of 1:25,000. It is used in a variety of applications, particularly in emergency services, natural resource management, planning and development, and digital map publications.

As per Vicmap Admin AD_LGA_AREA_POLYGON; this dataset is created by amalgamating the LGA's from AD_LGA_AREA_POLYGON to form the regions. It will only be as good as the underlying data.

Description

The LGA boundaries were extracted from LOCLGA and consolidated with Gazettal Information

Dataset Source: The DSE Regional boundaries were created in July 2005. The regions are based on the Victorian Government Regional Boundaries. The main difference is that the three metropolitan regions have been aggregated to form the Port Phillip region, and the Grampians and Barwon South-West regions have been aggregated to form the South West region. Dataset Originality: Derived
