The Victorian Alpine Fires 2003 were ignited on 8th January 2003 by a series of lightning strikes across north-eastern Victoria. This layer depicts the boundary of the Victorian and NSW fire boundaries. The Victorian part of this layer has been derived from fire number 39 in the fire100_2003 fire history dataset and combined with the NSW Canberra_SnowyFires03 layer. The NSW metadata can be found in the path below. The NSW data was supplied by the NSW Rural Fire Services.
