2015-16 South West Towns LiDAR Project
project:
cep33-2015-16_swtowns
The LiDAR project was conducted under the 2015-16 Coordinated Imagery Program (CIP). LiDAR derived ground DTM and Contours are the primary products for the project. The source LiDAR point clouds have also been delivered to ICSM Level 2 Classification standard. This standard means that the Ground point classification has been manually checked and edited, but above ground classes have only been classified by automatic processing and have not been manually edited. The above ground point classes have been inspected but not formerly assessed and should be used with caution.
LiDAR was captured to acheive a vertical accuracy of +/- 10cm RMSE all sites. The classified unthinned ground points were used to derive a 1 metre gridded 2D digital elevation model and 0.5m interval Contours of a quality suitable for drainage asset management and hydrological design.
The township of Heywood has been levelled and matched to existing +/-10cm RMSE vertical accuracy LiDAR data from the 2010-11 Floodplains LiDAR Stage 2 - Glenelg Hopkins CMA project.
The sites of Plantation, Koroit and Portland have been levelled and matched to existing +/-10cm RMSE vertical accuracy LiDAR data from the 2012-13 Victorian Coastal LiDAR Level 3 Classification Project.
