- Purpose
- The table is a reference table used for ecological resilience analysis related to Tolerable Fire Intervals (TFIs), such as determining the area of a landscape that sits below minimum TFI. EFG_EVD provides a spatial representation, joined to EVCs.

- Missing Data
- Wildfires information has been collected for the East Gippsland old-growth study area. The dataset for the central highlands is essentially complete, however no new records beyond 1993 have been recorded. The datasets for the North East and Goldfileds areas are currently being compiled. Statewide Completeness Verification: Ongoing monitoring and research projects will assist with the progressive update of fire response data, and EVD/EFG classifications as new information becomes available.
- Attribute Quality
- The assignment of tolerable fire intervals to EVDs (and EFG attribute fields) was based on flora records from DSE's Vital Attributes Database where they were available. Detailed research on the fire ecology of Australian native vegation communities is patchy. Therefore most TFIs were estimated using a combination of expert knowledge and modelling. The uncertainty associated with the TFIs has not been quanitified. However, the TFIs are conservative and based on a precautionary approach.
