Coastal public land management
dataset:
COASTAL_RECS
This dataset has been created to show public land along the coastal strip. It is based on PLM100 data, but has had additional parcels added to represent foreshore reserves which arent shown in PLM100 or are not accurately mapped. The attribute fields have all been checked and validated, so now show more uptodate names, recommendations, management categories and managers. Compiled for coastal mapping and a more accurate representation of coastal reserves.

Description
- Title
- Coastal public land management
- Alternate title
- COASTAL_RECS
- Purpose
- To show public land management along the coastal strip, with additional detail showing the foreshore reserves and uptodate land manager, local names and ECC status for some of the smaller blocks along the coast which were previously unknown or not shown.

- Supplemental Information
- Relationship to other Datasets: Can be used in conjunction with PLM100 dataset Current Design Issues: This dataset has some 1:100,000 data from PLM100 layer which has been left unedited, and some which has been edited to reflect more closely the parcel base. VicMap parcel data has also been used in areas where there previously was no spatial data for the public land, especially along the coastal strip, so that foreshore reserves along the majority of the coast are represented. The attribute fields have all been checked and updated, by several sources. Future Design Issues: This dataset can be used as a source of attributes for the future PLM25 dataset, as some parcel based coastal data has been used in this dataset to improved the detail available to users. This dataset has also been updated to ensure that local names, ECC names and recommendations and management categories and managers are more accurate than in the PLM100 dataset. Lineage
- Statement
- Dataset Source: PLM100 and VICMAP PROVISIONAL_PARCEL_MP_APPROVED, VICMAP PROVISIONAL_MP_CROWN_APPROVED Dataset Originality: Primary & Derived
- Description
- Checked PLM100 data against PROVISIONAL_PARCEL_MP_APPROVED, PROVISIONAL_MP_CROWN_APPROVED, also checked up parcels on PRIMS and in Portal to verify status and land manager. where the different scale linework didnt meet, edited the linework so it generally fitted 1:100,000 data.

Quality
Attribute Quality
- Comments
- Linework comes from both 1:100,000 and 1:25,000 sources, there has been some editing of lines to make the 1:25,000 data fit the 1:100,000 base, and to correct the 1:100,000 base where it was grossly inaccurate. Attribute have been checked.
Positional Accuracy
- Comments
- Linework has come from a variety of sources, mainly from the PLM100 dataset, but some linework has also been taken from the parcel layers. Accuracy is varied.
Conceptual Consistency
- Comments
- Not Known
Missing Data
- Comments
- Data set is complete for the coast of Victoria including the embayments, inlets and islands.
