Reserve boundaries and Descriptors.
dataset:
RESERVE
This layer is superseded by VICMAP_CLTENURE which was completed in February 2004.
This layer plays a key role in the management of Victoria's Public and Government Land. All gazetted reserves over Crown
land, as defined by Crown Land Management (CLM) from Parish Plans & Gazettal records, are included in this layer. The Reserve
boundaries have been reconciled against Departmental records. All polygons have a "Tenure number" to the TENURE_ID field
where the area is licenced. The "Tenure number" is used as a key into the LIMS text system (PORTAL) for further details.

- Purpose
- eThis layer contains the approved gazetted reserves over Crown land. Reserves may include:part, whole, or multiple Crown land Parcels. Reserve contains polygons to define the extent of approved gazetted reserves over Crown land. The layer is based on the Parcel cadastral map base for Crown land and is tiled on a parish basis. Reserve contains the boundaries of gazetted reserves. Reserve boundaries may include: part, whole or multiple Crown land parcels. The boundaries of these have been verified by regional staff against LIMS Text data and Regional plans and Files, and is annotated with a "Tenure number", positioned according to LIMS Cadastral Mapping Program (LIMS Cadastral Mapping Program) standards. The Reserve layer is maintained by LCMP in conjunction with CLM Regional staff verification. Verification involves the markup of plans to clarify the boundaries against Departmental records. A parish has reached production stage when it has completed the Regional Markup process, appropriate tenure layers have been created and checkplots have been verified by LCMP. The focus of the LCMP has been to capture and complete the tenure layers for Victoria to give a pictorial representation of where licence boundaries start and finish and which Crown land has an occupation of a reserved kind. Solely used in LIMS applications by Crown Land Management operational staff.

- Supplemental Information
- History: The reserve layer is one of many layers in the LCMP program. Production mapping of reserves commenced in 1991 and was designed to reduce the daily reliance of land administration officers on the old parish plan series by the provision of up-to-date cadastral mapping available through new maps or through an on-line GIS (LIMS dq - Display Query). Since 1991, the LCMP has progressively mapped all reserves in Victoria with approximately 100% processed into Arc/Info and part verified, and 94% (by area) of the state fully verified and value-added. Full statewide coverage of verified mapping is planned by LCMP for late-1999. Relationship to other Datasets: The Pipe layer can have the following relationships to the Parcel layer; · 1:1 to Parcel, · 1 to Many to Parcel, · Many to 1 to Parcel or · No direct relationship to Parcel, only direct relationship to Government roads (Unused road licences). Current Design Issues: Layer is tiled on a parish basis Future Design Issues: The capture of miscpc over the City of Geelong is a future consideration. - Description
- Extensive documentation of the data take-on process is described in the LCMP Data Take-on Manual (Version 7), available through LIMS Spatial Systems Group. Essentially, the initial process involves the processing of the LIG data using an IGDSARC command. Classes, levels and weights are outlined in a former Survey and Mapping Victoria document, "Level map, Graphic Attribute and Feature Code Specifications for Cadastral Data Elements". CLM Regional staff have marked up plans to verify and show the extent of Aglic boundaries through the LCMP program.
