SEBAL-derived Annual Evapotranspiration (ET) 2007 to 2008
dataset:
ET_SEBAL_2007_2008
This raster dataset consists of annual Evapotranspiration (ET) for the period 2007 to 2008. The data has been derived using the Surface Energy Balance Algorithm for Land (SEBAL). SEBAL is a computer application developed by WaterWatch which uses complex radiation and energy balace algortithms to generate evapotranspiration or actual water use from satellite imagery.
30m resolution data was produced from Landsat and MODIS satellite imagery and 250m resolution data produced from MODIS only. In addition, 250m resolution land-use data was used from the Bureau of Rural Sciences.

- Dataset Source: This dataset was derived from Landsat and MODIS satellite imagery and land use data from the Bureau of Rural Sciences. Data were input into the SEBAL software application where evapotranspiration was calculated as the residual of the surface energy balance equation: ET = Rn - G - H where ET is the latent heat flux (W/m2), Rn is the net radiation flux at the surface (W/m2), G is the soil heat flux (W/m2) and H is the sensible heat flux to the air (W/m2).
