This dataset has been developed to support the More to Explore App. This data must be used with HUNT25_CLOSED. It contains A subset of the area of PLM25 along with key fields from PLM25 and hunting codes for the different game species and pests.
These hunting codes link with the hunting code table.
The PLM25 boundaries have been combined with supplementary data based on legislative restrictions on hunting. The hunting code for each species or pest needs to be linked with the hunting code table to determine the conditions under which hunting of a particular game species or pest animal group is permitted.
The rules used to produce this product were developed by the legislation unit within the Land Management Division of the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning in consultation with the Game Management Authority, Vic Police, Parks Victoria and other relevant government authorities. These rules are based on requirements in the Forest Act, National Park Act, Crown land (Reserve) Act, Land Act, and Wildlife Act.
Note : Hunters are personally responsible for acting in accordance with the Firearms Act 1996
(including informing themselves about any prohibited locations within the areas shown on this map)
and other relevant laws; obtaining the required hunting licence; and for hunting only within season.
