Lineaments interpreted from Total Magnetic Intensity (TMI) data
dataset:
LINEAMENTS_TMI
This dataset comprises lineaments interpreted from 50m gridded Total Magnetic Intensity (TMI) data. Analysis has focussed on interpreting structural trends not addressed closely by the work completed by the former Department of Primary Industries (DPI) - specifically NNE-SSW, ENE-WSW and WNW-ESE trends.
The dataset was compiled by GHD to inform the report 'Potential Influences of Geological Structures on Groundwater Flow Systems' for DEPI's Secure Allocation Future Entitlements (SAFE) Project.

- Dataset Source: Lineament analysis of the 50m gridded Total Magnetic Intensity (TMI) data was undertaken using ER Mapper with an emphasis on interpreting structural trends not greatly addressed in the work of the former Department of Primary Industries (DPI). Specifically this comprises NNE-SSW, ENE-WSW and WNW-ESE trends. In relation to the TMI lineament interpretation, the following structural trends (except for the NNE-SSW trend) are noted: ENE-WSW: visible beneath volcanics; WNW-ESE: slightly evident; NNW-ESE: a lithology trend; NE-SW: a trend not previously noted from the interpretation of topographic, radiometric and gravity geophysical datasets; NW-SE: a trend not previously noted from the interpretation of topographic, radiometric and gravity geophysical datasets.
