Dataset Source: This dataset is derivied from aspects of the VicmapTM Land Adminitration Themes (LAT) and VicmapTM Topographic Themes (TT) data; in particular Vicmap Property - CAD_AREA_BDY, PARCEL and ANNOTATION_TEXT, Vicmap Address: ADDRESS and Vicmap Transport; TR_ROAD. Dataset Originality: Derived 

Description

The AutoCad files are tiled into grid squares with the initial tile size set at 64 square kms. When a tile size approaches 30,000 KB the tile is dividied into four. This process continues to occur for each subsequent time that a tile approaches the set size limit. The smallest tiles are found in the urban centres and they are 2 sq km. There are a total of 764 tiles that cover the State, with 122 in zone 54 and 642 in zone 55. The name of the tile has embedded intelligence. The 7 figure number refers to the easting and northing of the bottom left hand corner of the tile. Eg 3305830 represents the MGA94 Zone 55 coordinate of 330000 and 5830000.
