- Alternate title
- BOXIRON_RECS
- Purpose
- This layer shows the final recommendations of the ECC Box-Ironbark Forests and Woodlands Investigation for public land. The extent of this investigation was determined by the ECC within a larger area specified by the Minister for Environment and Conservation. The final recommendations were approved in February 2002, and subsequent legislation for 11 parks came into effect by the government on 29 Oct 2002.

- Supplemental Information
- Relationship to other Datasets: This layer is associated with the BOXIRON_BND layer which shows the boundary of the Box-Ironbark Forests and Woodlands investigation area. Current Design Issues: This layer was created in MapInfo and then converted to an ArcInfo coverage. The original data source was ArcInfo coverages from the corporate geospatial library. Due to the size of some of the very small blocks, these have not been included in this layer but will be included in the PLM25 layer and are available in Map D for the Bendigo region. Attribute Quality
- Comments
- The dataset is derived from PLMMT100 and PARCEL25, resulting in the parcel data being more accurate than the PLMMT100 data, however this layer should only be used at 1:100,000 scale due to the presence of the PLMMT100 data. Boxiron_recs is as accurate spatially as that dataset permits.
Positional Accuracy
- Comments
- The BOXIRON_REC boundaries have been adjusted to fit the PLM boundary (1:100,000) when data from the two different scales meet, but all other boundaries retain their original spatial accuracy which was either 1:25,000 or 1:100,000. National parks A1- A5, State parks B1- B5 and Castlemaine Diggings National Heritage Park have scheduled National Parks Act plans which are available from the DSE corporate library.
