Coastal Boat Access Points - Boat Ramps, Boat Launches, Boat Slipways
dataset:
BOAT_ACCESS_POINTS
This point layer identifies the location of coastal boat ramps, boat launches and boat slipways along the Victorian coastline.
Boat ramps are interpreted as having a sealed surface (usually concrete), where the water can be accessed by a boat trailer. The sealed surface extends into the water (at least at high tide). Boat launches have a natural surface where the water can be accessed by a boat trailer (usually across the beach). Boat launch sites will sometimes have a sealed surface from the road or car park to the top of the beach. Slipways are interpreted as facilities where a boat is transported to the water on rails.
