Description
Canopy height is defined as the vertical measurement between the ground and top of vegetation and is determined on a 2m cell basis. Canopy Height has been derived by subtracting the average height of the ground returns in each cell from the highest vegetation return in that cell, and has been calculated within 200m either side of the river centre lines. Vegetation heights have been limited to a maximum of 99m above ground. Data has been removed within 1m of buildings to avoid errors related to building features underneath or above the vegetation. The height measurements are taken directly from the LiDAR data points.
