- Description
- The DEM is generated from the LiDAR point data classified as Ground so that it defines the bare earth ground surface. The DEM generation employs a Point to TIN and TIN to Raster process with Natural Nearest Neighbour interpolation. Ground class preparation: The data was processed with a classification macro designed to achieve a ground point density of approximately 1 point every 5m² on the ground as a starting point. Additional near ground points are added or excluded from ground classification base on angle and distance tolerances in the ground filter. Manual effort was applied to check ground terrain for low spikes, un-modelled areas or areas where excessive low vegetation was included. Above ground points were classified with automatic classification routines and supervised with manual quality assurance checks. The final classified dataset contains more than 40 ground points per m² on average. Hydro-flattening has been undertaken for natural and man-made water bodies, including Lake Condah, outside of the lava flow.

- Comments
- The DEM surface was generated using the ground class LiDAR points and is equivalent of a traditional and standard ground surface model.
Missing Data
- Comments
- Standard DEM with complete coverage of Budj Bim World Heritage Area.
