2021-22 Dandenong Untextured 3D Building Models

This project represents the creation of untextured LOD2.2 F1 building feature objects over the Dandenong Activity Centre in the City of Greater Dandenong Local Government Area. Building geometry was separated by property base, and street-facing awnings were further modelled on non-residential properties. Bridges and tunnel portals were also modelled at LOD2 although no tunnel features ultimately found to be present. The models were stereo mapped from the 2021-22 Greater Melbourne Multi-Epoch Photography Spring epoch raw frames. Building skirts and bridge extents were cut to the 2017-18 Greater Melbourne Lidar DEM. The models are to support state and local government in general desktop survey purposes, including but not limited to feasibility studies, visualisation of future stages of potential projects; extracting building heights and form, and modelling of other typical ground-based features that would be required in the early stages of transport and infrastructure planning. The data will also be fed into the Department's Digital Twin Victoria Platform.
