Purpose

Vicmap Admin provides an accurate representation of various adminstrative boundaries across Victoria, at a capture scale of 1:25,000. It is used in a variety of applications, particularly in emergency services, natural resource management, planning and development, and digital map publications.

Victoria is 100% complete The data is complete as it is based on the current version of ESTA Response Zone Fire boundaries and omsv2 database records for the time. 

Attribute Quality

Highly accurate. The boundary data is based on ESTA Response Zone Fire Boundary data and omsv2 data according to a snapshot in time. 

Positional Accuracy

As the Brigade Response Boundary is based on the Response Zone Fire Boundaries which are derived from Vicmap property cadastre layer, it has equivalent accuracy to the cadastre layer. See Vicmap Property Product Description for further information. 

Lineage

Description

The Brigade Response Boundaries are derived from dissolving the current ESTA 'Response_Zone_Fire' (Assignment Area) Boundaries layer by the field 'RSP_Z_AREA'. This data is then joined on shortname to a table derived from a CFA corporate database (RMS). This adds the fields 'brig_name', 'brig_no', 'distrct_no', 'short_name', 'grp_no', 'grp_name' and 'grp_short'.
