Vicmap Admin - Country Fire Authority (CFA) Brigade Response Polygon
dataset:
CFA_BRIGADE_RESPONSE_AREA
Part of the Vicmap Admin dataset series. This layer contains polygon features delineating the current Country Fire Authority Brigade Response Boundaries.
The Brigade Response Boundary layer defines the area a CFA brigade is primarily responsible for, as determined by CFA Management for use in the Computer Aided Dispatch system.
The Brigade Response Boundary layer does not cover the entire state. In certain areas, such as the Puckapunyal Army Base and the Metropolitan Fire and Emergency Service Area, there are holes in the data. CFA is not the primary response agency in these areas.
This is a restricted dataset.
This data is current as of August 2024 and referred to as version CFA Map 120.

- Description
- Collection Method: Maps, Administrative process
- Description
- The Brigade Response Boundaries are derived from dissolving the current ESTA 'Response_Zone_Fire' (Assignment Area) Boundaries layer by the field 'RSP_Z_AREA'. This data is then joined on shortname to a table derived from a CFA corporate database (RMS). This adds the fields 'brig_name', 'brig_no', 'distrct_no', 'short_name', 'grp_no', 'grp_name' and 'grp_short'.
