Merged 1993-96 LANDSAT TM and 1992-96 SPOT Panchromatic Imagery

This layer is a data fusion of LANDSAT Thematic Mapper and SPOT Panchromatic satellite imagery. The layer combines the multi-spectral characteristics (bands 5,4 and 3 or 2) of the LANDSAT and the spatial (10 metre) resolution of the SPOT to provide image data applicable to scales up to 1:25,000. The image pixel resolution is 10 metres. The image dates range from 1992 onwards for SPOT and 1993 onwards for LANDSAT TM.

Purpose
The high spatial resolution makes the data very useful as a base for capture of GIS data at 1:25,000 and for local level planning. It is also very useful as a background image in ARCEDIT and ARCPLOT and can be draped over Digital Elevation Models (DEM25). The image layer is a one channel TIF image and would not be suitable for image processing other than for display.
