Lineage

Description
Laser strikes were classified into ground and non-ground points using a based upon algorithms tailored to major terrain/vegetation combinations existing in the project area and applied across the entire project area. The quality of the classification was further improved by manual checking and editing of the LiDAR data using intensity imagery and orthophoto imagery as a reference. The definition of the ground may be less accurate in isolated pockets of dissimilar terrain/vegetation combinations. Following classification, LiDAR files were exported into XYZI textfile format.
