Description
ArcGIS 9.2 Terrain Grids were derived using the Natural Neighbor interpolation. This method uses the closest triangles and applies weights to the proportionate areas from the grid cell centroid to interpolate the value. It uses known elevation data, it does not make any predictions regarding the surface and accurately depicts existing troughs and peaks in the data and supports irregular point spacing, which suits the nature of LiDAR data.

Comments
The DEMs are consistent with respect to their visual representation of the ground features, continuity at the tile boundaries and representation of elevation values. The definition of the ground under trees may be less accurate. Accuracy estimates for terrain modelling refer to the terrain definition on clear ground.
Missing Data
Comments
The DEM is complete for the defined project extent. Holes may exist in the dataset where there were insufficient laser strikes to produce a surface (eg. ocean, large water bodies). Such areas have been coded with a 'no data' value of 9999.
